Grant Denyer's startling Dancing With The Stars admission: 'Don't know'

He took home the win on Dancing With The Stars way back in 2006 but Grant Denyer admits he's a bit out of practice heading into his second shot at the mirror ball trophy in February.

The 44-year-old former Sunrise star came clean about his poor dance floor form in a promo for the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars: All Stars.

"It's been 15 years, I haven’t danced a step since. I don’t know if I’m ready," Grant reveals before taking the stage with his dance partner, Lily Cornish.

But the TV personality — who hosted DWTS in 2019 and 2020 — appears to have underestimated his talent, if his fluoro, '80s-themed routine with Lily is anything to go by.

In fact, judge and Strictly Ballroom star Paul Mercurio declared Grant and Lily's debut a "show stopper".

"That's why I came back," a thrilled Grant tells host Daryl Somers.

The Gold Logie winner's participation in All Stars hasn't been without controversy. Back in October, New Idea magazine published an article suggesting the Grant was having an affair with Lily, 22.

The claims were found to be completely untrue and the publication later released a public apology to Grant, Lily and Grant's wife, Chezzi Denyer with whom he shares three children.

New Idea noted that Chezzi was left 'heartbroken' by the story which was featured prominently on the front cover along with slogans such as 'Grant Denyer Caught Out'.

"Are Media and New Idea acknowledge that Grant Denyer and Lily Cornish are not having an extramarital affair. They have never had an affair," the apology read.

After defeating boxing champion Kostya Tszyu in the DWTS grand final 15 years ago, Grant is back for another crack at the title.

He joins champs from the past 17 seasons, such as The Bachelorette star Angie Kent and The Morning Show's Kylie Gillies, as well as four wild card entrants on the All Stars dance floor.

This season's wildcard entrants are Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac, model and TV presenter Kris Smith, musician Deni Hines and actor Cameron Daddo.

While Grant hosted the previous two seasons alongside The Living Room's Amanda Keller, the original hosting duo Daryl Somers and Sonia Kruger are back to do the honours.

On the judging panel are Todd McKenney, Helen Richey, Paul Mercurio and Mark Wilson.
