Man found dead in recliner 'with head injury' at Gold Coast home

The death of a man whose body was found in a recliner reportedly with head injuries at a home on the Gold Coast is being treated as suspicious.

Police were called to the Markwell Avenue home in Surfers Paradise about 5.15pm on Friday where they saw the body of man in his 30s through the window.

“It appeared to it be a person unresponsive and seated on [what is] described as like a La-Z-Boy-type chair inside the lounge,” Senior Sergeant Brett MacGibbon told 9News.

“They have entered the address and have found the male unfortunately deceased.”

The identity of the man and the person who made the call to police has not been revealed.

He was discovered with a head injury, according to the Gold Coast Bulletin.

Forensic officers will continue investigations at the property over the weekend and police confirmed to Yahoo News a postmortem would be carried out in the next 24 hours.
