Girl, 9, found dead after she is 'restricted from using mobile phone'

WARNING, DISTRESSING: A nine-year-old girl took her life after she was told she could not use her mobile phone early in the morning, neighbours claim.

Heaven Vega was found by her mother Jennifer at their home in the Bronx in New York City on Saturday and neighbours and police sources told the New York Post the death followed a fight between the mother and her daughter.

“Nowadays, all kids have cellphones in their hands and all they do is watch YouTube,” an anonymous neighbour told the New York Post.

“Apparently the girl woke up, and she wanted the phone to go on YouTube. But the mother told her, no, it was too early in the morning.”

The New York Post reports she was the youngest of four siblings.

The mother called emergency services after finding her daughter and she was rushed to hospital. She could not be revived.

Her tragic death comes weeks after Michigan school boy Michael Martin, 13, took his own life after he was relentlessly tormented on a school bus.
