A five-year-old girl is lucky to be alive after she fell out of a second-floor window at a home in Sydney’s south west.

It’s believed the girl fell five metres after falling through a flyscreen just before 12pm on Monday in Milperra.

The girl was transported to Westmead Children’s Hospital with chest, abdominal and wrist injuries.

Inspector Craig Watkins, from NSW Ambulance, said it was a miracle her injuries weren’t more severe.

“It’s obviously a worrying time for the family and they did a great job comforting the patient until we arrived on scene,” he said.

“The young girl is extremely fortunate not to have sustained more serious injuries.”
