Girl, 4, indecently assaulted by man inside beach toilet block
A four-year-old girl who had wandered into a toilet block at a park next to a popular Sunshine Coast beach was indecently assaulted by a man.
Police say the young girl had been with family and friends at Tickle Park, at Coolum, on the afternoon of January 4, when she wandered away from the group and went into a unisex toilet block nearby.
A man entered the toilet, located at the Coolum Surf Club end of the park, and indecently assaulted her, authorities said.
The girl told her parents about the incident, believed to have taken place sometime between 4.30 and 5.30pm, when she returned to where her family and friends were.
Police say the young girl was medically assessed but did not need medical treatment.
According to police, the man was thought to be wearing shorts and a t-shirt and he may have had white or light-coloured hair.
They are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything or anyone suspicious in the vicinity of the park on the afternoon of January 4 to contact them.
Police would also like to talk to any drivers who may have been near Tickle Park between 4.30 and 5.30pm and have dashcam vision.
