Girl, 17, accused of stealing parents' credit card to pay for hitman

Teenager Alyssa Hatcher used her parents’ credit card to withdraw money on two separate occasions to pay for a hitman to kill them, police have alleged.

The 17-year-old Florida teen was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal solicitation for murder on Monday (local time), Lake County Sheriff's Office said, Fox News reported.

A friend of the teen told a school officer she had given someone they both knew “a lot of money” to track down someone willing to carry out the murder of her parents, according to a sheriff’s detective in an arrest affidavit.

Bank statements from the card allegedly used by Hatcher to coordinate the killings showed a withdrawal of A$730 and another of A$1,300.

Hatcher’s boyfriend told police he saw her “at a known drug house” on Monday morning, and she told him of how she wanted to kill off her parents.

She allegedly later admitted to investigators that she handed one person $400 to murder her parents, and another person $900 when the initial person failed to follow through.

Police said she used $100 of the money to buy cocaine, and the rest was passed on to the prospective killers.

Neither plots were successful.
