Girl, 14, charged with murder after death of 10-year-old cousin
A 14-year-old girl has been charged with murder following the death of her 10-year-old cousin, after the younger girl was found dead on a property in northeast NSW.
Emergency services were called to the Gunnedah home about 7.15am on Wednesday after reports the younger girl had been seriously injured.
Upon arrival, police found the body of the child, a NSW Police spokesman told AAP.
Officers later arrested a 14-year-old girl, believed to be her cousin, nearby.
The accused has been refused bail and is due to appear before a children’s court on Thursday.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation is underway.
