A 13-year-old girl is recovering in hospital after being savagely mauled by two dogs while walking in Cairns.
The teenager was attacked on Saturday, and required surgery because of serious injuries to her legs.
Her own two dogs were also hurt in the attack.
A Cairns Hospital spokeswoman said the girl is still in hospital, and is in a stable condition.
Photos on a GoFundMe page set up to help the girl’s family pay for her recovery and vet bills showed deep bite marks across both legs above the ankle.
“(The girl) is suffering unimaginable pain and permanent physiological damage,” organiser Lisa Eagleton said on the page.
Local law officers are currently gathering evidence, however no dogs have been impounded, a Cairns Regional Council spokeswoman said.
