Girl, 11, critically injured after falling from moving car

An 11-year old girl is in a critical condition after falling from a moving car driven by her mother.

The incident occurred in Berowra, about 40 kilometres north of Sydney, on Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to Boundary Street about 10am after reports a girl had fallen from the back of a moving vehicle.

The girl suffered a serious head injury and facial swelling, a NSW Ambulance spokesman told Yahoo7.

The spokesman confirmed she was treated at the scene by paramedics and was flown by a CareFlight helicopter to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

The girl’s mother was driving the car, a NSW police spokesman told Yahoo7.

The woman will go to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Kuring-Gai Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Crash Investigation Unit officers are also at the scene and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Officers are expected to hold a press conference 4pm on Saturday about the incident.
