Girl, 1, dies after falling from motorcycle while riding with dad

A young girl has been killed in a motorcycle accident at a rural property in NSW’s north.

Emergency services were called to the address at Delungra, more than 600km north of Sydney, about 9.30am on Tuesday after reports of an accident.

A 29-year-old man was riding a Honda motorcycle in a paddock, with his 19-month-old daughter seated in front of him, police have been told.

The girl fell from the motorcycle when the man lost control of the vehicle.

She suffered critical head injuries and died at the scene after paramedics were unable to save her.

The motorcyclist was taken to Inverell Hospital where routine blood and urine samples were obtained.

Police from New England Police District as well as Northern Tablelands Crash Investigation Unit and the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct inquiries.

The investigation continues and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
