BERLIN (Reuters) - German Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel told a BDI industry association event on Tuesday that he expects growth of 1.7 percent to 1.8 percent in Europe's biggest economy this year and next.

Germany's government cut its 2015 growth forecasts to 1.7 percent from 1.8 percent last month, blaming an economic slowdown in China and other emerging markets.
