America’s No.1 tennis player John Isner has slammed rioters for going about their protests the wrong way following the tragic death of George Floyd.

Floyd – an African-American man – died in Minneapolis after a police officer was filmed kneeling on his neck during an arrest on Monday.

Nationwide protests against racial injustice and police brutality gripped the country over the weekend, which prompted many sport stars to voice their opinion.

UFC star Jon Jones was one athlete seen on the street confronting protesters during the looting and vandalism that has left cities reeling.

Now, Isner has called for rioters damaging and looting buildings to be arrested.

One video that enraged Isner was footage that appeared to show rioters setting ablaze a homeless man’s belongings.

“Really something to cheer about. Arrest them all,” he wrote.

Isner copped plenty of backlash from fans that took aim at him for some of his tweets.

Many claimed he appeared to be so angry about the riots and suggested he missed the bigger picture.

But Isner corrected the fans having already clearly expressed his support for the movement against brutality.

However, Isner explained he does not think the riots are helping the cause and are ‘dishonouring’ the victims of ‘brutality’.

Jon Jones questions rioters

UFC fighter Jones isn’t going to stand for people looking to vandalise his town.

Jones confronted two teenagers carrying spray cans around Albuquerque, New Mexico, over the weekend, and posted video of the incident on his Instagram page.

In the video, Jones follows one person demanding that person give Jones the spray can.

After Jones receives the spray can, he walks over to another person, who immediately gives up their spray can.

In his post, Jones asks why ‘punk ass teenagers’ are ‘destroying our cities.’
