Gentle bear saves a crow from drowning at Budapest Zoo

Gentle bear saves a crow from drowning at Budapest Zoo

Who said bears and birds can’t be friends? Watch as this gentle giant saves a vulnerable drowning crow from the water in his enclosure at Budapest Zoo.

Upon first glance of this video, you may immediately assume that this poor, helpless crow is dead meat once the large brown bear approaches. But remarkably, the opposite occurs.

The heroic bear reaches in and pulls the drowning crow out of the water with its arm before holding it in its teeth, and dropping it on the ground safe from the water.

Then the bear just, well, moves on! It doesn’t even seem to be interested in gobbling the poor wet bird up. It returns to eating the vegetables left out. The shocked bird quickly shakes itself off and realises “I’m still alive!”

Was it the crow’s lucky day? Or is this the kindest bear we’ve seen??
