The genius $9 plastic bag hack that will change the way you shop

It’s the new habit we’ve all adopted in the wake of the plastic bag ban and one Gold Coast mum has shared her simple hack to make sure she’s never caught without a reusable bag while doing a grocery shop.

Mum-of-six Joelle Skinner has got her bag stash sorted, posting pics on her Jedi Mum Tricks Facebook page how she makes sure she always has a whole heap of them on hand.

“I found this little bag at Kmart for $9 and the reusable bags were from Woolworths at 99c each,” Joelle wrote on her post.

“I can easily fit 12 in the bag, with room for more if you wish.”

With the budget buy shoulder bag the perfect size for storing fold up reusable bags, Joelle says there’s also space to store your wallet and phone, meaning there’s no need for to juggle it with your normal handbag.

“I will be chucking it in our nappy bag though, it’s small enough to do that easily,” adds Joelle.

Joelle’s hack is just the latest way ingenious mums have been doing their grocery shopping after the plastic bag ban.

Perth local Ashleigh Hair shared her budget hack to Facebook group Kmart Mums Australia, revealing she purchased one game-changing item from Kmart which she now keeps in her car at all times – a $5 flexible tub that she can wash in between shops.
