A full timeline of David and Victoria Beckham's relationship history

David and Victoria (AKA Posh and Becks) have been together for more than 20 years and have four children, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. At this point, they're basically British royalty – soz, Kate and Will!
So, ahead of his new doc, here is a full timeline of David and Victoria Beckham's relationship history, from when they first met to their recent updates and more.
1997
February - David and Victoria both grew up 15 minutes from each other in London, but they didn't actually meet until years later, when Victoria (who was then Posh Spice of the Spice Girls) went to one of David's Manchester United football matches with Mel C.
He said on The Jimmy Fallon Show that she was his favourite Spice Girl, and when she came to another one of his games the following week, they hit it off straight away. "She wrote her number down on her train ticket, which I still have," he shared. Awww!
1998
January - After a year of dating, the couple announced that they were engaged!
Later that year, they also announced they were expecting their first child.
1999
March - The couple become parents as they welcome their first child, Brooklyn.
July - In the wedding of the century, two become one as David and Victoria tied the knot at The Luttrellstown Castle in Dublin, Ireland. They pulled out all the stops for the occasion, which reportedly cost £750,000 and featured throne chairs, tiaras and more.
In an Instagram post for their 15th anniversary in 2014, Victoria shared a snap of their wedding and wrote "15 beautiful years. We feel so blessed and thank you all for your love and support over the years. Such a special day for us all."
2002
September - Three years after getting married, the Beckhams welcomed their second son, Romeo.
2003
April - They move to Madrid, Spain after David signed a four-year contract with football team Real Madrid. But, he was hit with cheating rumours as his former assistant, Rebecca Loos, alleged they had an affair, which David denied.
2005
February - David and Victoria welcomed their third child, Cruz.
2007
June - David signed a five-year contract with the football team L.A. Galaxy, so the Beckhams make the move over the pond to Los Angeles, California.
2011
February - The Beckhams welcome their fourth child, daughter Harper Seven.
"Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are excited to welcome their new baby sister to the family," a spokesperson of the Beckhams said at the time.
2013
May - Following a short stint with a German football team, David made the decision to retire from the sport and the Beckhams moved back to London.
"I wouldn't have achieved what I have done today without my family. I'm grateful for my parents' sacrifice, which made me realize my dreams," he said in his statement, per BBC.
"I owe everything to Victoria and the kids, who have given me the inspiration and support to play at the highest level for such a long period."
2015
June - Rumours that the couple are breaking off start to circulate, to which Victoria tells Grazia, "David and I have nothing to prove. We love each other, look out for each other and are strong as both partners and parents."
2017
January - Around 20 years after they first met, David revealed that he and Victoria renewed their wedding vows.
In an interview with BBC Radio 4, he said, "We have renewed our vows since [our first wedding]. It was a lot more private, about six people there in our house."
He also opened up about his marriage, adding, "We know each other better than anybody. People have talked about, 'Do we stay together because it’s a brand?' Of course not. We stay together because we love each other, because we have four amazing children.
"Do you go through tough times? Of course. That’s part of relationships. It’s part of marriages. It’s part of having children. It’s part of having responsibilities."
2019
July - David and Victoria celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary, with her sharing a sweet video on Instagram filled with throwback photos of the couple.
"20 years today. I love you so much," she wrote. So sweet!
"WOW 20 years, look what we created. Love you so much," he wrote.
2022
April - The couple's eldest son, Brooklyn, marries his girlfriend Nicola Peltz in a lavish ceremony.
"Proud mum and dad 💒💕✨ congratulations Mr & Mrs Beckham," Victoria wrote on her Instagram.
2023
September - Victoria gushes about David's new Netflix documentary, writing on Instagram, "I'm so proud of you David Beckham and everything you’ve achieved.. I can’t wait for you all to see BECKHAM on Netflix from October 4!" Can't wait.
