Fruit shop catches fire in Barossa Valley

A suspicious fire has damaged a fruit shop in South Australia's Barossa Valley.

Police and fire crews were called to the Murray Street, Nuriootpa shop just before 3.15am on Monday after reports of fire.

Crews quickly extinguished the blaze but the inside of the shop and its stock were extensively damaged.

The fire is deemed suspicious and investigators will attend the scene on Monday to determine the cause.

The damage bill is estimated at $70,000.
