Frantic search for Aussie woman missing for over a week

The search continues for an Australian woman who has been missing for over a week.

Tea Wright-Finger was last seen on Coalbrook Road in Richmond — almost 500km west of Townsville — at around 3pm on October 16 when she was dropped off by a friend at a blue Toyota Prado 4WD, Queensland Police said.

Officers launched a land and air search for the 19-year-old on Saturday, with a spokesperson confirming on Monday that police are focusing their efforts on the Flinders River area.

They were led to the area by Ms Wright-Finger’s mobile phone, which was switched on “very briefly” around 9.30am on Tuesday.

“Using an off-road buggy and vehicle, SES personnel will search tracks and areas of thick vegetation on the banks of the Flinders River near the township of Richmond as well as a neighbouring rural property,” Queensland Police said.

“The Mount Isa RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter is searching areas north of Richmond and down to the southern boundary of Blackbraes National Park.”

Queensland Police said Ms Wright-Finger’s family hold concerns for her safety and wellbeing.

Anyone who has seen the 19-year-old or the Toyota Prado, which she is believed to have been driving at the time, is urged to call police or Crime Stoppers (1800 333 000) immediately.

Ms Wright-Finger is described as being caucasian, roughly 180cms tall with a medium build and blondish/light brown hair.
