Four men have been charged with drugs offences after they were arrested in a fishing boat off the coast of Newquay, Cornwall.

Border Force officers intercepted the vessel, which had been carrying about a tonne of suspected cocaine, on Friday, according to the National Crime Agency (NCA).

The men - a 45-year-old from Manchester, a 46-year-old and a 30-year-old from Swansea, and a 26-year-old of no fixed address - were all charged with importation of a controlled Class A drug, officers said.

They have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
