Former bikie boss turns his back on notorious lifestyle

A former bikie leader and convicted killer with a cult following on social media has revealed he has given up his previous lifestyle.

Moudi Tajjour, who was until recently the national president of the Nomads, has explained why he has quit as boss of one of Australia’s most powerful bikie gangs, insisting he has now gone straight.

Taijour said he believed the time was right to step down after sorting out “internal issues”.

“You get old, mate. It’s not fun being a f***ing gangster anymore,” Taijour told 7News.

He is now encouraging young Australians with their hearts set on gang life not to follow in his footsteps.

“It’s an unpleasant lifestyle that you have to worry about dying by a bullet,” he said.

“Whoever tells you that they want to die by a bullet, is either a foolish man or just out of his mind.”

The 35-year-old is a convicted killer once jailed over a stabbing death while his brother is behind bars over a Sydney Dubai drug syndicate.

But in spite of his notorious history, Tajjour has cultivated 34,000 followers on social media for engaging with the public.

His decision to step down has come as a shock to his followers and his close friends.

“They’re not happy. I don’t ask for their opinion. I don’t ask them what they do in their life, I do what I do,” Taijour said.

The former bikie boss has a YouTube channel and a streetwear clothing line.

He insists his reinvention is funded by clean money.

“You can’t succeed in this country without having the opinion and assumption that you’re up to no good,” he said.

When asked if it was fair to assume Taijour had created his wealth through criminality, he strongly refuted such suggestions.

“Why would you assume that? Because of the way I look? Surely you’ve been brought up wiser than that to judge a book by its cover,” he said.

Taijour said his income had all been “legitimate”.

While law enforcement hold doubt over Taijour’s claims, he said his main concern was making sure young aspiring gangsters thought twice before living the lifestyle and he was remembered.

“I didn’t change my life because of my enemies. Obviously my enemies are a bad shot. I don’t have to worry about them,” he said.

“With all due respect when I say this, you die tomorrow, no one’s going to remember you. I die tomorrow everyone’s gonna remember me.”
