Footage shows hooded man wanted over mum found dead in garage
Footage has been released of a man police are searching for in relation to the murder of mother-of-three Samantha Fraser on Victoria’s Phillip Island.
The 38-year-old was found dead inside her Seagrove Way garage at Cowes on July 23 after failing to collect her children from school.
Her death is being treated as suspicious and police have released footage of a man wearing a hoodie and walking towards Ms Fraser’s house earlier that day.
The footage shows the man walking towards Ms Fraser’s house, wearing a black hoodie with a distinctive dark blue band on the midriff and arms of the item, dark pants and dark shoes.
Police have also released CCTV of a motorcycle seen in the area on the day Ms Fraser was found and they are investigating whether the rider is the same man.
Detective Inspector Tim Day urged anyone who may have information about the identity of the man, the clothing or the motorcycle to come forward.
“At this stage we can’t account for that man being in the street and are looking to find out who he is and why he was there,” he said.
“This sighting is of vital importance to this investigation.
“Detectives are also looking at whether he possibly bought the hoodie in the days or weeks before going to the property, which is why we’re asking anyone who might recall selling a hoodie fitting this description to contact us.
“Any piece of information could be crucial in solving this murder.”
Detectives are again asking anyone who has dashcam footage taken on Monday July 23 in the vicinity of Phillip Island between 7am and 1pm and hasn’t already spoken to police to please download and secure the footage, then contact Crime Stoppers.
Investigators are particularly interested in footage taken in the vicinity of Seagrove Way, or between Seagrove Way and San Remo on the mainland.
