Foetal remains discovered in former abortion doctor's home

More than 2200 medically preserved foetal remains have been found at the home of a former abortion clinic doctor who died last week.

Dr Ulruch Klopfer’s family told police about possible foetal remains being found in an unincorporated part of his home in Will County in the US state of Illinois on Thursday.

Police said authorities found 2246 preserved foetal remains but there’s no evidence medical procedures were performed at the home.

The coroner’s office took possession of the remains. An investigation is underway.

Klopfer, who died September 3, was a longtime doctor at an abortion clinic in South Bend in the US state of Indiana.

It closed after the state revoked his license in 2015.
