Active wearghhh! Woman shocks police with what she's smuggling in her gym leggings

A woman shocked police with an unexpected reptile shoved down her pants when they pulled her over after the vehicle she was in failed to stop at a stop sign.

A small alligator was presented by the woman on Monday when police asked if she “had anything else”, after officers found 41 turtles inside her backpack, according to a post to Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

The 25-year-old pulled the foot-long animal from inside the pair of gym leggings she was wearing, which she was believed to have collected during a scavenging expedition in the early hours of the morning, Miami Herald reported.

Officers pulled over the couple’s blue ute and and after requesting the driver’s license, registration and insurance card, they asked to check the rest of the vehicle.

Michael Clemons told officers he and Ariel Machan-Le Quire were hunting for frogs and snakes underneath a bridge about 3.30am.

Deputies were reportedly checking if they had any protected species in the car when they discovered the turtles and then the alligator.

Police said the matter had been handed over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
