'It's unthinkable': Woman busted buying heroin with two-year-old grandson

A woman has been caught buying heroin at the same time as caring for her two-year-old grandson.

Police in Florida pulled over the 43-year-old grandmother after she purchased $20 (USD) of heroin from a drug dealer in the street.

Volusia County Sheriff’s Office uploaded disturbing footage of her arrest to Facebook.

In the clip, Amy Diane Moreland is seen under arrest as her grandson sits on the pavement without shoes.

Officers can then be seen taking the child into their care.

The post highlighted the drug problem in parts of the country, saying addiction often leads to the “unthinkable”.

“[Buying drugs with your grandson is] unthinkable to most of us, but drug addiction makes the unthinkable happen in communities across the country,” they said.

“We’ll keep working to take drugs off our streets and hold offenders accountable before more lives are lost.”
