Flooded NSW farmers offered $10k compo

Banana and shellfish farmers whose crops were devastated by storms and floods which battered NSW in June will be offered up to $10,000 in recovery funding.

Wild winds wiped out up to 50 per cent of some banana crops across northern NSW when the storms struck, with shellfish stocks also destroyed by the tempestuous weather.

"Eligible farmers will be able to use the grants for removing debris, salvaging crops and stock and repairing damage to equipment," NSW Deputy Premier Troy Grant said on Tuesday.
