'Flight to North Pole' makes children's dreams come true

Children battling cancer received an early Christmas gift when they were given a taste of the North Pole and introduced to Santa Claus.

About 20 families boarded the “Flight to the North Pole” on Saturday at Mitchell International Airport in the US state of Milwaukee.

The children were ferried to the airport’s hangar where they were greeted by a winter wonderland with sleighs, Santa’s elves and the big man himself.

One of the coordinators Laura Golner told Fox6 News the day brought smiles to the children’s faces.

“It was rewarding for all of us beyond words,” she said.

“When you see a kid laugh that you know feels just crummy, it makes your heart melt. These families deserve so much more than what we’re doing for them.”

The ‘North Pole Flight’ was organised to bring cheer to families at Christmas time.
