Five charged with Victorian mail theft

Five people have been charged over the theft of mail from letterboxes west of Melbourne as police investigate credit card fraud allegations.

A man, 28, and four women, aged 28 to 34, have been charged with property offences after police searched a Werribee house.

"Investigators will allege that a large amount of mail was located at the address, believed to have been stolen from unsecured letter boxes in the area," police said in a statement on Tuesday, with the alleged offenders due to face court in November and January.
