Firefighters send nine crews to battle house blaze

Firefighters from nine stations are tackling a blaze that has broken out in a property's roof.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to the semi-detached house on School Street, Stoke-by-Nayland, just before 18:45 GMT on Friday.

Crews have been using four hose reel jets and an aerial water carrier to extinguish the flames.

They have attended on blue lights from nine stations across Suffolk and Essex, including Ipswich East, Woodbridge and Colchester.

Police officers and the ambulance service have also been in attendance.

A BBC reporter said the fire was affecting a property opposite St Mary the Virgin Church.
