Firefighters have rescued a tiny kitten with a pair of pliers after it got its head caught in an unlikely spot.
Eric Dupuy from St Tammany Fire Protection in Louisiana, US came across the kitten near the station stuck in the base of a basketball hoop.
The cat had appeared to have stuck its face through a tiny hole on the base and was unable to get back out.
On Sunday, the fire station uploaded footage of the rescue to Facebook.
They used a pair of pliers to carefully cut around the kitten’s neck and managed to pull it out unharmed.
“He and Firefighter Richie Carter went to work and performed a successful kitten extrication,” the fire station’s social media post said.
Footage of the rescue has had more than 8000 views since it was shared on Sunday.
