The warning level for a bushfire in the Gold Coast hinterland has been downgraded, but firefighters will continue to fight the blaze throughout the night.
Authorities had earlier on Friday warned residents to prepare to leave their homes, but by evening revised their advice for the blaze burning near the Springbrook National Park.
Those in the area must now keep up to date and have their bushfires plans ready to enact.
The fire is moving in an easterly direction towards the Springbrook Road and Pine Creek Road intersection.
"People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality," a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said.
QFES says no properties are currently threatened by the blaze.
The fire was the first of the Queensland bushfire season, which started on August 1, to reach the 'prepare to leave' level of advice.
