Perth bushfire contained and controlled

A bushfire on Perth's north-eastern fringe has been contained and controlled, and no longer poses a possible threat to lives and homes.

An emergency warning was issued for people in the western part of Bullsbrook on Tuesday but returned to a 'watch and act' within about one hour.

The alert level has since been downgraded to an advice, with authorities saying there is no immediate danger but people in the area need to keep up to date with the status of the fire in case the situation changes.

Some roads have been closed and motorists are asked to avoid the area and reduce speed due to smoke.
