Fire destroys vacant house

A Shoalwater house was completely destroyed by fire overnight.

Firefighters were called to the blaze on Gloucester Avenue at 11.35pm.

No-one was inside at the time and the house was vacant before the fire as it was being renovated.

It took 16 firefighters an hour to contain the blaze, which caused $250,000 damage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
