A dozen firefighting crews are battling to extinguish a blaze at a primary school in Bondi that forced the evacuation of more than 50 students.
Emergency services were called to the fire around 5pm on Wednesday, finding a two-storey building inside Bondi Beach Public School well alight.
Local police, paramedics and 12 fire trucks rushed to the scene.
More than 50 children who were in the school grounds at the time were evacuated, a NSW Police representative said.
Two officers were treated for smoke inhalation, but no other injuries have been reported.
A spokesman for FRNSW said the fire had been contained to one building but was not completely extinguished.
It is too early to tell if the blaze was deliberately lit, the spokesman said.
