Ferry sailings between Isle of Man and Lancashire resume

Manxman leaving Douglas Harbour
The Manxman set sail for Heysham on Wednesday morning

Passenger and freight sailings between the Isle of Man and Lancashire are back up and running after cancellations on Tuesday.

The Manxman set sail from Douglas to Heysham at 08:40 GMT, with its return due to depart at 14:15.

It followed four days of disruption to crossings caused by gales brought by Storm Isha and Storm Jocelyn.

The island was hit by gusts of up to 60mph (97km/h) on Tuesday evening and overnight.

Due to the extended period of disruption, only two of the Manxman's return trips to Heysham sailed between Friday night and Tuesday.
