Female skydiver, 26, in critical condition after hitting 'strong turbulence'


A skydiver is in a critical condition after a 1400-foot dive northwest of Adelaide.

Paramedics were called to a Lower Light skydiving school on Saturday about midday.

The skydiver, a 26-year-old woman, hit a patch of ‘strong turbulence’ during her dive.

A SA Ambulance spokeswoman told Yahoo7 the skydiver suffered a fractured leg and head injuries, and confirmed she was in a critical condition.

She has been transported to Royal Adelaide Hospital.

It is also believed the 25-year-old is an experienced skydiver.

The incident is being investigated.
