Fears grow after CCTV emerges of Aussie mum missing for over a month
The 42-year-old left her Ballarat residence early in the afternoon of May 30 with her black cat in a carrier. Her whereabouts remain unknown.
Concerning CCTV of an Aussie woman missing for more than a month has been released by police. Footage of Renee was last captured on a Ballarat, Victoria home’s security camera at about 6am on June 2 — four days after she disappeared from her home 20km away.
The 42-year-old, whose last name has been withheld, left her Warrenheip residence early in the afternoon of May 30 with her black cat, named Shadow, in a cat carrier. Footage shows her walking briskly in the rain with a backpack over her shoulders and pet in hand.
Days later, a dishevelled Renee rang the doorbell at a home on the other side of Ballarat in the suburb of Lucas and spoke to a resident inside, asking for clothing and water before leaving.
Video shows the 42-year-old placing a grey, hooded jumper over her head as she crouches down on the front porch. Shadow was later found left outside the house. Renee's whereabouts remain unknown.
Missing woman may be confused, avoiding people
Police and family members are worried for Renee’s welfare as she has a medical condition and has been missing for an extended period of time.
Investigators said they do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding her disappearance, but fear she may be confused and is possibly deliberately trying to avoid people.
The mum hasn’t accessed her bank accounts in over a month, furthering their worries, police said.
Renee is described as being Caucasian, of slim build, about 170cm tall with blonde hair. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact Ballarat Police Station on (03) 5336 6000.
