A father and his adult son have been stabbed multiple times outside a house in western Sydney, in what police say is a targeted attack.

Emergency services were called to the house on Horsley Drive in Carramar at 3am on Tuesday on reports two people had been stabbed.

The stabbing was linked to a domestic incident, a NSW Police spokeswoman later confirmed.

The men, aged 57 and 25, are at Westmead Hospital where they are in serious but stable condition.
