Father of baby girl found dead on beach charged with murder

The father of a nine-month-old girl found dead on a Gold Coast beach has been charged with murder.

The 47-year-old man was charged on Thursday after the girl was found unresponsive on Surfers Paradise beach on Monday.

The baby’s parents, the man and a 23-year-old woman, have both been questioned by investigators.

The man was extradited from Queensland to NSW on Wednesday.

It will be alleged in court that the child died in NSW.

The man been refused bail and will appear in Tweed Heads Local Court on Thursday.
