The fatal short cut that led to Adelaide man being killed by train


A man in Adelaide’s north had been walking on train tracks before he was killed.

The man, 40, from Smithfield Plains, was crossing between platforms before he was hit and killed by a train in Munno Para on Monday about 10pm.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was injured.

“He was crossing from one platform to another,” a police spokeswoman told Yahoo7.

“It appears he was trying to take a shortcut. We are reviewing CCTV footage.”

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
