Fantasy football scout tips gameweek 23: Sergio Aguero, Danny Ings, Mohamed Salah and more

Sergio Aguero

Our tip to sign Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez last week went fairly well, but the Algerian did not return quite as many points as hat-trick hero Sergio Aguero.

Aguero is only part of around 14% of squads - far less than Kevin De Bruyne's 53%, for example - and Crystal Palace's visit is a chance to plunder yet more points.

Mohamed Salah

Planned for Liverpool's double gameweek, when three Anfield assets will be almost essential? Gameweek 24 follows quickly after 23 and it makes sense to start your preparations now.

Many already have Sadio Mané and one defender, so either consider another at the back or Mohamed Salah - still the most expensive player in the game but worth covering for the weeks ahead.

Reece James

Chelsea's stock of young talent has been a useful fantasy resource this season and Reece James is the latest to emerge as a regular starting option.

James registered an assist and a clean sheet last week at home to Burnley. Frank Lampard's side now travel to play another struggling side in Newcastle and will be confident of a clean sheet.

Danny Ings

Will Danny Ings ever stop scoring? The answer is probably yes, and if he is not already in your side you may feel you have missed the boat, but 10 goals in 11 apperances is hard to ignore.

After scoring at Leicester last week, Wolves present another difficult test for Ings but one he can pass. His £6.8m price tag is still cheap enough to free up funds elsewhere, too.

Todd Cantwell

Norwich's Todd Cantwell is already a popular pick, in almost a quarter of squads, but for many he is a little more than a bench option.

This may be the week to drop him into the starting line-up Bournemouth's leaky defence in town, for what is suddenly a relegation dogfight.

Honourable mentions: Alex McCarthy, Benjamin Mendy, Kevin De Bruyne, Richarlison, Neal Maupay
