The incident took place at the lake of Jakobs Dam near the town of Kongsberg in the Norwegian county of Viken on 26th November.

The police confirmed that Eckhoff drowned at the lake while filming a new video for his popular channel.

On November 22 he had posted a video on his channel titled ‘I am Not Dead, I am 57 Today’. It was his last upload and has so far been viewed over 870,000 times.

In his videos, the blogger drinks vodka, rolls around on thin ice, dives into freezing lakes, and enjoys ice baths.

He was working alone when he fell through the ice while filming his latest video, however, his screams were heard by an eyewitness who called the emergency services.

Divers arrived on the scene and managed to drag the 57-year-old man out of the icy water and take him to the University Hospital Ulleval in Oslo by air ambulance, however, doctors could not save the influencer despite their best efforts.

The police said he died on November 27 and that the victim’s family is aware they are making his name public.

A police investigation is still ongoing.
