Family tribute to 'kindest gran' after crash death
A family has paid tribute to the "sweetest, kindest" grandmother, who died in hospital two weeks after being hit by a car in Aberdeen.
Maureen Davidson, 83, was knocked down while walking on Whinhill Road on 6 December. She died at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on Saturday.
Police Scotland said inquiries were ongoing into the circumstances.
In a statement, Ms Davidson's family said they were "devastated by the tragic loss of our lovely mother and grandma".
They said she was in great health and "lived independently with a buzzing social life", enjoying meals out with friends, bingo and dancing.
Ms Davidson's granddaughter added: "My grandma is one of the sweetest, kindest and most resilient people you could ever meet.
"She was like a parent to me, and I'm forever grateful to have had her in my life."
Police Scotland appealed for anyone with information about the incident, which happened at about 11:20, to contact them.
Sgt Alexander Bowser-Riley said: "Our thoughts are with Maureen's family and friends and everyone affected by this incident.
"Officers will continue to support the family as our inquiries progress."
