Family tribute after 'beloved Mam' dies in crash

A family have paid tribute to an 84-year-old woman who died following a two-car crash which left four other people in hospital.

Jean Harris was pronounced dead of the scene after the collision in Barmouth, Gwynedd, on Friday afternoon.

The relatives of Mrs Harris said: "We are truly heartbroken that our beloved Mam has been taken from us too soon."

North Wales Police is appealing for witnesses and information after the collision, which happened shortly before 13:14 BST on the A496 in an area known as the Glandwr Straight.

Mrs Harris's relatives said: "She was the heart of our large family, and our lives will never be the same again.

"She will be so terribly missed."

The collision involved a white Suzuki Ignis and a silver Kia Carens.

The four other injured people were taken to hospital in Stoke, one by air ambulance and the others by road.

Three are still in hospital with serious injuries, and one was discharged from hospital on Saturday morning.
