A psychological expert has shared a "sneaky" and "powerful" hack to help you tell whether somebody in your life secretly dislikes you.
The expert, who goes by @austy_j on TikTok, told his followers the simple technique would reveal people's true feelings towards you.
"This technique is called startling the snakes," he says on TikTok.
"When you have a suspicion someone secretly dislikes you, say something to them that can be perceived as either superficially polite or subtly insulting," he says.
As an example, the TikToker said you could say something like, 'Nice outfit', and take note of how they react.
The expert said a friend would just take it as a superficial comment, but said a secret enemy will interpret the comment negatively and lash out.
"Any strong negative response will let you see what's boiling under their surface."
The expert often posts TikToks sharing psychological hacks to help followers.
In another video, he shared a trick on how to get people to like you, meaning you may be able to win your secret enemy back.
"This is incredibly powerful and will positively affect all of your relationships," he said in the video.
"This is called reciprocal liking. How it works, when you see the person whose favour you want to gain, get genuinely excited to see them, like, 'Hey, brother, it's so good to see you man. I missed you How you been?'
"You want to treat them like you share a special bond with them. This works because we're psychologically hardwired to like people who like us and view us as a good person. When we show them we see the best in them, the feeling is reciprocated."
A number of followers commented on the expert's video claiming the hack worked and thanked him for sharing his tips.
