Ex-West Yorkshire Police detective denies woman's sex assault

A former West Yorkshire Police detective inspector has denied sexually assaulting a woman while off-duty.

At Bradford Crown Court on Wednesday, Claudine Binns, 49, pleaded not guilty to assault by penetration in March 2022.

Ms Binns, who has since retired from the force, was granted conditional bail until her trial on 6 May 2025.

Judge Jonathan Rose rejected a defence application that the trial should be transferred to another crown court.
