After euphoria of Assad’s fall, Syrians face daunting challenge of rebuilding Aleppo

In Aleppo, efforts are under way to rebuild after years of destruction left much of Syria's second-largest city and its medieval citadel in ruins.

Aleppo and its surrounding province were the scene of some of the most brutal fighting of Syria's civil war. Now, more than a week after the fall of Bashar al-Assad, euphoria is slowly giving way to reality as local residents come to terms with the challenges of reconstruction.
