ESPN's Stephen A. Smith Makes Bold Accusation Following Election Results

Stephen A. Smith is sharing his unfiltered opinion on the 2024 presidential election, and what he believes cost Kamala Harris the race.

While speaking about the election results on the Wednesday, Nov. 6 episode of his podcast, the ESPN commentator claimed that it was the celebrity endorsements of Harris, including those from Michelle Obama, Taylor SwiftOprah Winfrey and more, that ultimately helped Donald Trump make his way back to the White House.

After naming a myriad of celebrities who voiced their support for Harris prior to the election, Smith specifically talked about Barack Obama's wife and her impact on voters.

Citing a speech made by the former first lady where she said "a vote for [Trump] is a vote against us," Smith argued that she may have "alienated" some voters.

"If we don't agree with you, we're against you?" he repeated during the podcast episode, while questioning, "How do you think the men felt about that? So we have to do what you tell us to do; otherwise, we're anti-you? You thought that worked? Do y'all know anything about most men? You think that's going to work?"

Smith also blamed Winfrey, in part, for a comment she made about the possibility of never being able to vote in an election again if Trump were to win.

"Who believed that?" Smith said in reaction to Winfrey's bold statement, while arguing, "This is the kind of stuff that alienates an electorate, alienates a voter."

"Because the freedom that you tell them you have, you try to confiscate morally by letting them know, you ain't worth a damn unless you vote the way we say you should vote," he continued, before questioning, "Who's going to go for that in a general election? With an economy rife with inflation, with over 12 million people crossing the border?"

To sum up his point, Smith said the issue revolves celebrities, who are "incredibly detached" from the average American citizen's way of life.

He said celebrities "were not going to get away and guilt [voters] into doing something different than what their experience says is going on and what they should do about it."
