EPA considers bore water ban in SA suburbs

Toxic chemicals found in bore water in Adelaide don't pose unacceptable health risks, South Australia's Environmental Protection Authority says.

But the EPA is looking to formally ban the use of bore water in Edwardstown and South Plympton seven years after the discovery of chemicals from the former Hills Industries factory.

Trichloroethene (TCE) and tetrachloroethene (PCE) are solvents that can cause nausea, headaches and dizziness with high exposure affecting the respiratory and central nervous systems.
