Wilde uses "breast milk" for ALS challenge

Olivia Wilde has taken an unusual approach to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, dumping chilly "breast milk" over herself instead of water.

"I couldn't find any water so I'm going to use breast milk. It took me all night to make this," Wilde, an advocate of breastfeeding, says in the video before throwing the large bucket over her head.

Jason Sudeikis' fiancee and mother of 4-month-old son Otis later took to Twitter to clear up any confusion.

"Oh wait some of you thought that was really breast milk? Oh dear. Uh thank you? But my boobs aren't that generous. Haha," she posted.

Wilde is one of the latest celebrities to undertake the challenge, which went viral last week and raises money and awareness for ALD, known as motor neurone disease (MND) in Australia.

Unlike some other celebrities, Wilde, 30, made sure not just to mention the cause but that she would be donating to the issue.

She dedicated her challenge to friend Scott Lew, saying, "I will be donating in your honour".

Wilde then nominated New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, women's rights advocate Gloria Steinem, and "the artist currently known as Prince" to participate.
