Lorde will present at MTV VMAs

Lorde will be one of the presenters at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards.

The Kiwi singer is upping the Antipodean presence at the event as Aussies 5 Seconds of Summer and Iggy Azalea have already been named as performers on the show.

Other presenters on the night will include Demi Lovato, some of the cast from Orange is the New Black and Jason Derulo.

Lorde is also nominated for best female video and best rock video on the night.

The Kiwi singer just announced a homecoming tour from October-November in Christchurch, Dunedin and Wellington, including a show in her hometown of Auckland just days before her 18th birthday.

"Kiwi audiences are the best, and I'm so happy to be playing the final shows for Pure Heroine here.

"It's only right I come full circle, back to where it all started."

Lorde hasn't toured New Zealand but she has played a handful of shows there, including a free show at Vector Arena last year and a May gig last year in Wellington.

  • The MTV Video Music Awards will take place in California on August 24, and will screen live on MTV at 10am (AEST) on August 25.
