Enraged customer smashes up Chanel in front of shocked bystanders

This is the moment a female customer smashes up a Chanel store in a shopping centre in a furious rage and wrestles with an employee moments before being arrested.

The suspect, who has been identified by her surname Liu, is seen shouting at the top of her lungs inside the Chanel makeup shop in the coastal city of Qingdao in East China’s Shandong Province.

Wearing a pink down jacket, the woman picks up a part of the makeup counter and slams it against the floor inside the Mixc shopping centre, sending cosmetic products such as lipstick scattering across the tiles.

A large crowd gathers nearby as the woman appears to begin attacking a Chanel employee, grabbing her shirt sleeve as she desperately tries to get away, her colleagues also appear too frightened to approach them.

Authorities say Liu, 21, “harassed” other customers at the Chanel shop and damaged the counter before being restrained by a shopping centre security guard.

She was subsequently arrested for the vandalism but was found “mentally unwell”, police said.

They contacted her family members and took her to Qingdao Anning Psychological Hospital for further examinations.

It was still unclear at the time of writing what exactly triggered the woman’s angry response.

It is also unclear whether her family members will be ordered to pay for the damage done to the Chanel products and store.
